Their story
Eric XIV, a figure of the House of Vasa, was born at Tre Kronor Castle on December 13, 1533. He ascended to the Swedish throne, ruling as king from 1560 until his deposition in 1568. His reign was marked by significant domestic and foreign policy challenges. Though intelligent and artistically inclined, Eric's later years were increasingly shadowed by mental instability, which profoundly influenced his governance and relationships. He was a central figure in the early years of modern Swedish history. Eric XIV died at Örbyhus on February 26, 1577.
